Surgical Dermatology
Every year more than 3.5 million people will be diagnosed with skin cancer in the United States. Skin cancers are the most common type of cancer. Caused by excessive exposure to ultraviolet rays, this type of cancer usually requires surgery and advanced safety practices to avoid further damage.
Skin cancer usually presents as a mole with uneven color, moles that have changed in size or asymmetric borders, or as skin lesions. If you have noticed any of the above, we recommend scheduling an appointment with a dermatologist as soon as possible.

Skin Cancer Screening and Treatment
The first step in diagnosis is to undergo a full body scan from a trusted dermatologist. Screening for moles with signs of irregularity and testing suspicious lesions through biopsy. If skin cancer is detected, your dermatologist will develop a treatment plan to eradicate the cancer cells and provide a preventative treatment plan.
Options for Treatment of Skin Cancer
Depending on the type and location of the cancer, several treatment options may be available. For non-melanoma skin cancers, Mohs Micrographic Surgery is the most effective choice with the highest cure rate. Surgical excision is an option for Malignant Melanomas and non-melanoma skin cancers affecting the legs and arms. A consultation with one of our experienced dermatologist will help determine your best course of treatment.
